Lynne Baer is an Independent Art Adviser with more than twenty years of experience. She has worked with public institutions, private non-profit foundations, developers, and corporations to commission site-specific artworks, create temporary exhibitions and permanent collections, and develop guidelines and procedures for art programs.

From 2010 to 2016, Lynne advised The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Medical Center in the selection of art for three new hospitals under construction in Mission Bay, completion in 2015. The commissioning of site-specific works focused on both Bay Area and National artists such as Catherine Wagner, Jon Rubin, Rebeca Bollinger, Jim Campbell, and Sarah Sze.

In addition to ongoing projects with UCSF, Lynne has worked with the Glide Foundation, Mercy Housing, and Bridge Housing to place art in affordable housing projects in San Francisco. She has also provided guidance in the placement and acquisition of artworks for private foundations such as the Packard Foundation and Mother Jones. Lynne has advised in the communities of Dublin, Walnut Creek, Pleasanton, Emeryville, Santa Clara, and Antioch for the commissioning of public art and the creation of public art master plans.

Lynne graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with honors and received a Master's Degree in Art History specializing in WPA art of the 1930s from the University of California, Davis. Before striking out on her own, Lynne was Director of the Fine Arts Department at Butterfield & Butterfield Auctioneers and held various positions at the Hirshhorn Museum, Washington, DC, San Francisco Museum of Art, and the Oakland Museum.
